The New Year’s Eve dance which had been hosted by Ramada Colombo over the last 30 years, has returned this year after its three-year break, with the organisers promising it to be one of Colombo’s sought-after tickets this season. The event would also feature a couple of Sri Lanka’s popular bands, Flame and Freeze.
Ramada Head of Sales Ramesh Vidanarachchi said: “With everything that the country has been through since the beginning of this year, we wanted to give our customers a fresh start to 2020. With the new presidency and all the changes which are taking place, we also wanted to bloom up our hospitality sector along with the beginning of the New Year.”
He said that this year’s dance was an upgraded version of the previous dances with a larger variety of gifts and giveaways to the attendees, including those that will be gifted from a raffle draw. Vidanarachchi also added that the bands Flame and Freeze have been selected to be featured at the dance as a change to the event, while the Gypsies had performed in the earlier years.
“A grand dinner buffet and a raffle draw with an array of exciting prizes that include a multitude of air tickets, adds to the night’s excitement, with each table of 10 provided with complimentary bottles of spirit and wine. For those of you who wish to party all night, a traditional New Year’s breakfast will be served as well,” he noted.
According to the organisers, tickets for the dinner dance would be prized at Rs. 12,000 per person, while those who only wish to attend the party could purchase tickets for the dance at Rs. 8,000 per person. An early bird discount of 10% is to be offered on tickets purchased before 10 December and tickets and table plans are available at Ramada Colombo’s lobby from 1 December.
