Taj Samudra Colombo is to celebrate the dawn in of 2020 with ‘Masquerade with Marians’ at the New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance on 31 December.
Renowned as the epitome of luxury, Taj sets the ambience for another enjoyable and glamorous event with a touch of glamour. What’s more, guests will be taken to moments of imagination with a sense of excitement, for them to imitate the person or historic character they want to be, led by music and dancing is the magic of this ‘Masquerade’ theme. All guests will receive a mask at the entrance and will be ushered to the respective table.
Adding to the string of grand events Taj Samudra Colombo hosts, the 31st night New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance is to come live in all its glory while indulging you in luxury. The NYE 2019 will gather momentum under a grand marquee at the spacious North Lawn, to the dawn of the New Year at midnight and until the early hours of the year 2020 from 8:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
Colorful face masks in line with the lighting and décor of the ‘Masquerade’ theme and vibrant hues will dominate the NYE at the Taj this 2019. The bright-coloured ‘Masquerade’ theme is vivacious and hence is that perfect selection for night time celebrations – it is ultimate in setting the tone for renewal, rejoice and resolutions through fun-filled entertainment.
Famous Marians led by Nalin Perera performing along with the DJ will certainly take the audience by storm – Sinhala, Hindi and English popular songs along with Baila in an upbeat will kick up your heels to dance the night away. It will easily slip your mind that it’s the middle of the week.
Since its launch in 1988, Marians has been winning the hearts of local and international audiences and has held international performances in many countries – from USA to UK, Europe, Middle East, East Asia, Japan and Australia.
Marians rebranded their musical identity by being the first to introduce the concept of ‘Unplugged Music’ to Sri Lanka in 2006 which hit off successfully amongst all music lovers both young and old. In line with the festive extravagance, a mouth-watering spread, a delectable international buffet with action stations will be offered from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.; this will be followed by a traditional milk rice breakfast with accompaniments at 3:00 am. International charcuterie bar (ham, pates, smoked meat), appetisers (dips, salsa), live salad bar, soup and a selection of international breads with dipping, live Italian corner, scrumptious seafood paella, grilled sausages counter, slow cooked black angus beef rump, herb marinated leg of lamb, crackling roast pork belly, the good old fish and chips, the ever traditional roast turkey along with accompaniments and a grand Indian corner to add on to the gala buffet.
A wide range of tempting desserts includes assorted cold cheesecakes, ever sinful strawberry bavaroises, croquembouche (cream puff tower), blueberry cheese gateaux, and white chocolate crème brûlée, created by our chefs, the experts of the culinary trade. Taj carefully considers the choices of vegetarian guests.
Unlimited liquor with chasers will be given to all guests. Indulge in an array of unlimited selected beverages like Chivas Regal 12 years, Absolute Vodka, Beefeater Gin, Jacobs Creek Red and White wines, Havana Club Rum, Brandy, Arrack and Lion Beer. Chasers include aerated beverages, packaged bottled water, ginger beer, tonic water, ginger ale and soda. Champagnes and Tequila shots will be on sale.
