Following on the success of last year’s event, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka and the Korea Foundation will co-host the Korean Film Festival 2018 from 12 to 15 October at the National Film Corporation (NFC) Theatre, Colombo 7, in partnership with the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka. Admission is free.
The Korean Film Festival 2018 takes place from 12 October at 6:30 p.m. The opening film of the festival will be ‘KUNDO: Age of the Rampant’ (action, 2014), a periodic film starring the most popular Korean actors.
On the second and third day (13 and 14 October), the screening time is 3 p.m. ‘A Hard Day’ (Crime/Thriller/Comedy, 2014) which gives the audience a full of thrilling and entertaining experience will be screened on Saturday. ‘Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time’ (Crime, 2012), a Korean Noir film based on Korea in the 1980s with some humour, will be shown on Sunday.
On the last day (Monday, 15 October), ‘Clown of a Salesman’ (Drama, 2015) will be screened at 6:30 p.m. It is a touching story discussing on the issue of loneliness faced by parents.
The festival hopes to provide Sri Lankan people with an opportunity to better understand Korea’s culture and society through the medium of contemporary films.
