The National ICT, Telecommunications and Mobile Services Provider, SLT-Mobitel’s television channel Charana TV, won the Outstanding Trailer of the Year Award, at the 15th State Television Awards held recently.
It also secured several nominations such as the Outstanding Talk Show, Outstanding Audio Video Cultural Program and Outstanding Announcer of the Year, showcasing tremendous success at its very first appearance in the State Television Awards.
Thushantha Vidanage’s ‘Kavi Dahayata Gee Dahayak’ program bagged the ‘Outstanding Trailer of the Year’ Award which has gained high popularity among Sri Lankan fans as it provides rich entertainment for poet lovers while promoting contemporary poets in the country.
“Charana TV was the youngest television channel to participate at the State Television Awards 2021. Within just three years since Charana TV was established, we have been successful in creating our own identity, challenging the traditional television lineups and concepts compared to other TV channels. Many viewers passionately embraced the difference we created on screen through our program lineup. Among other accolades ‘Kavi Dahayata Gee Dahayak’ was nominated as the ‘Outstanding Talk Show’ while ‘Art Beat’ produced by Anuka Perera, was nominated for ‘Outstanding Audio Video Cultural Program’ and Dulashi Dharmasena of ‘Kaalathraye Kathabaha’ was nominated for the ‘Outstanding Announcer of the Year’ awards respectively.
