When it comes to introducing novel, innovative and sustainable energy saving solutions to the progressive Sri Lankan energy consumers, JLanka has been in the forefront of the country’s renewable energy revolution since the company’s inception in 2010. Today, the company is encouraging all Sri Lankans to join the JLanka Energy Movement, to promote the rapid widespread deployment of advanced, clean and sustainable energy sources across the country.
Kicking off the first phase of the Movement will be the Think Globally, Act Locally campaign, where the company will engage with the general public via social media, encouraging consumers to like and share the company’s powerful message of the country’s transition in to renewable energy, along with content and information on solar energy, innovative solutions, energy management systems, automation and so on.
JLanka, already active on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube will be sharing their knowledge and expertise on a frequent basis across these multiple social media channels, ensuring an efficient and quick mode to get the message across. Soon after, JLanka will launch a website that will host the JLanka Energy Movement Wall that would include the names of all those who are part of this energy revolution.
“What we are trying to promote here is not just a message of renewable energy. What we are promoting is the context that every single person’s contribution matters,” commented Romello Pietersz, Head of Business Development of JLanka. “Your contribution could be a simple message shared about energy saving on social media, or you may have changed your home lighting to LED, or you may have even installed a solar solution at home. Your actions will directly impact our country’s economy towards a sustainable future. Every single action matters. And this is JLanka’s way of thanking and encouraging those who are proactively doing their bit to save energy while protecting the environment.”
At the recently held Green Energy Leaders Forum on Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment powered by JLanka, a physical replica of the digital wall was made available for those who participated at the forum to sign on, including policy makers and investors. Founding members of SolarEdge Technologies Inc. of Isreal, a global leader in photovoltaic (PV) inverters and power optimisers, and an emerging forerunner in smart energy management signed on the wall to ensure international support for the movement.
The company is continuing this trend with replica boards at each of their outlets across the island, where customers can sign on the board to show their support for the energy movement.
“The biggest priority for us is to educate the general public, policy makers and investors of the need to support research and development of renewable energy and energy management solutions,” said Pietersz. “We have the knowledge, and we have the expertise. Sri Lanka is extremely capable of achieving greater leaps when it comes to renewable energy, with the right support and investment. This is a movement that can start small and create empowering changes for our communities, for our country, and we want everyone to be part of it.”
