Key forum on efficient energy sector for economic and investment growth on Thursday

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, the regulator of electricity sector, will hold the Energy Forum 2019 – a gathering of energy sector experts, private sector and government sector white collars to discuss ‘Policy Dialogue on the Importance of an Efficient Energy Sector for Economic and Investment Growth’ – on 26 September, from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel Colombo.

Energy Forum 2019 plans to create a dynamic dialogue among all the stakeholders on energy security and global partnership, energy sector investment challenges, data-driven decisions on electricity industry, energy policy, climate change policies and governance and energy and economic vulnerability in the electricity industry. 

PUCSL intends to embed the ideas emerged at the forum into policy advice, regulations and rules developed by the Commission.

The panel discussion will consist of eminent professionals, namely L1RNEasia Founding Chair/ Information and Communication Technology Agency Chairman Prof. Rohan Samarajiva, University of Colombo Senior Professor/ Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka Chairman Prof. Sirimal Abeyratne, Verite Research Executive Director and Head of Research/ PUCSL Commissioner Dr. Nishan De Mel, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission of India former Chairperson Dr. Pramod Deo, and Ceylon Chamber of Commerce National Agenda Committee on Energy Co-Chair Saliya Wickramasuriya (Session Chair).
