Their outstanding levels of efficiency, commitment to R&D, quality of products and level of value addition have enabled them to reach the upper echelons of the global market.

“We intend to make CHINT the benchmark in Sri Lanka when it comes to smart energy solutions. CHINT wants to add value to Sri Lanka, firstly by helping the Government reduce energy costs by utilising smart energy solutions and secondly, by boosting local manufacturing by commencing assembling of CHINT products in the 1st quarter of 2020 and exporting to the South Asian market in the second half of the year.”

Zhejiang CHINT Electrics Sales Director – Asia Pacific Terrence Ding stated: “We plan to help the Sri Lankan Government to build up the energy sector by bringing in smart energy solutions. Once the energy costs come down, foreign investors will be enticed to setup manufacturing plants in Sri Lanka as at the moment one of the key problems that is keeping them away is the higher energy costs when compared to some of the other Asian countries.

“CHINT’s global rise is very much in line with China fast becoming a dominant player in the global market across different fields. For instance, if you take the telecom industry or even high-speed trains, China has become a global force and has even surpassed some of the bigger players in the market in terms of knowledge, innovation and technology.”
