William Angliss Institute Australia Board Secretary Judith Slevison opening the new building
The William Angliss Institute at SLIIT proudly opens the new building extension in style with six Board Members from the William Angliss Institute Australia, the Chairman and Board Members here in Sri Lanka and distinguished VIP guests.
The opening ceremony commenced with the cutting of the ribbon by William Angliss Institute Australia Board Secretary Judith Slevison.
All guests were escorted to the third floor Hot Kitchen for the traditional milk boiling and lighting of the oil lamp ceremony. Both William Angliss Institute at SLIIT Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Hunt and Managing Director Anuk Weerasinghe here locally in Sri Lanka spoke about the facilities, the exciting opportunities for the students to study well and shine, proceedings continued with a thank you to the entire building extension contractors, suppliers and to Chairman Errol Weerasinghe, management and staff of the William Angliss Institute at SLIIT.
After the speeches, it was time to go to the second floor Patisserie Kitchen where an outstanding Sri Lankan morning tea was arranged by all in the Patisserie Team, followed by a tour of the entire building and then a celebratory lunch for all of the guests. The new building extension contains two kitchens (Hot Kitchen and Patisserie). Both kitchens have state-of-the-art European equipment to enhance teaching delivery and allowing the students to use the highest standards of equipment to benefit their studies and be career ready. Other brand-new facilities include three classrooms, larger food stores, modern washrooms/changerooms including showers and to top it all off, they are now finishing the final stages of the Roof Top Training Bar/Student Recreation area.
