SLIIT will host an Open Day in September to showcase the endless possibilities for prospective students as they prepare and explore exciting future career pathways.
The Open Day is an annual calendar event of SLIIT. This year it is scheduled on 7 September from 9 a.m. onwards at the SLIIT premises in Malabe and presents an ideal opportunity for prospective students to meet faculty and tour the Institute’s facilities.
Open Day will also be held at the Institute’s metro campus in Kollupitiya and established centres located in Matara, Kandy, Jaffna and Kurunegala.
Potential students are invited to visit SLIIT together with their family and friends and gain insights into the degrees and programs offered, speak to lectures and current students and experience campus activities. The open day will also set the platform for the main intake which will take place in September 2019.
Commenting on this year’s Open Day, Chairman Prof. Lakshman L. Ratnayake said, “Over the years, SLIIT has remained steady on the journey towards academic excellence and working towards setting new standards in education in the country. As we host another open day welcoming prospective students we believe they will find the perfect study and career paths paving the way for a successful future.”
The Open Day will include detailed information on SLIIT’s undergraduate degrees in the fields of Computing, Business, Engineering, Education, Science, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Biotechnology, Psychology, Nursing, Law, Tourism and Hospitality and Event Management
“We are pleased to host another Open Day for prospective students. It is the perfect platform for future students to receive a hands-on look at what career options are available, speak with our expert staff and also see for themselves how SLIIT’s innovative approach to learning can support them in their future goals,” added SLIIT President/CEO Prof. Lalith Gamage.
Students can also inquire about the Institute’s international programs and transfer options and receive the relevant information.
An exciting highlight for the day’s program will be academic counselling and an exhibition conducted by current SLIIT students on their innovations showcasing their talents.
Information on SLIIT’s relatively new Faculty of Humanities and Sciences can also be obtained during the Open Day. The new faculty offers interested candidates a quality education in the fields of Nursing, Psychology, Biotechnology, Education and Law.
