OZO announced the appointment of Sanjaya Marasinghe as the Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, restaurant and bar dining, in-room dining as well as banqueting services at OZO Kandy hotel, the second property opened under the OZO brand in Sri Lanka.
After completing his Management Diploma at the Ceylon Hotel School and specialising in professional cookery, Chef Sanjaya travelled and worked in properties all around the island, expanding his culinary experience along the way.
Chef Sanjaya brings over 17 years of working experience in hotels to his role and has held numerous positions at award-winning hotels. Prior to joining OZO, he shared his knowledge and expertise as the Executive Chef of some fine hotel projects, including Xiengthong Palace Hotel in Laos, where he was part of the pre-opening team. In his role he was responsible for developing the operational standards, including preparation techniques as per hotel rules and regulations. He also was in charge of planning and preparing menus in conjunction with seasonal demands and requirements.
An expert in Sri Lankan cuisine, Chef Sanjaya has also participated in the Sri Lanka Food Festival and Training Programme held at the Ramada Park Hotel-Geneva, Switzerland. His capacity for exploring and learning new culinary avenues has keenly attributed to the success of his professional career.
In his new role Chef Sanjaya will continue to focus on a personalised approach to contemporary dining tailored to suit the palate of both Sri Lankan and international travellers. The selection of menus will consist of delectable styles from Italian, French, Asian and BBQ influences, combined with gastronomic expertise and techniques to deliver multi cuisine experience to all OZO guests.
