The Galle Face Hotel announced its participation at ‘The Culinary Fiesta’, organised by the Culinary Arts Club of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia. The Culinary Arts Club, which has functioned successfully for over 10 years, organises this event annually with the objective of teaching students culinary skills and providing them with invaluable insights into the hotel and hospitality industry in order to encourage talented individuals to consider a career in this field.
At the event, well renowned chefs prepare a variety of delectable dishes which provides the audience with the opportunity to learn how these dishes are made as well as experience its scrumptious taste.
Speaking about the importance of hosting events such as this, The Galle Face Hotel Executive Chef Adam Gaunt-Evans, who will be participating at the fiesta said, “We are delighted to be working with S. Thomas’ College and partnering with them for the first time at The Culinary Fiesta. Working in the hospitality industry has allowed me to explore the world and have experiences I would never have dreamed of, growing up in a small village in Wales. It’s extremely important to share our experience and advice with these young ambitious students at this important early stage of their careers. They are the future generation of chefs and hoteliers. There has never been a better time to join the hospitality industry, and nurturing fresh talent is a big part of our responsibility for the future.”
The Culinary Fiesta will take place on 24 September in the Main Hall of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and anyone interested in the field of hoteling and hospitality is welcome to attend.
