Cinnamon Grand’s, typically British-styled Cheers Pub is a popular spot to enjoy the best of brews, pub grub and sporting action. With a laid back, easy going pub vibe, Cheers embraces a ‘19th Century English pub meets 21st Century sporting club’ ambiance. Elegant wooden panelling, emaralite lamp shades and dense carpeting, side by side with sporting t-shirts, football jerseys and TV screens airing live sports, not to forget a retro juke box playing your favourite tunes, is all part of its lure.
The menu at Cheers offers a wide range of British pub fare such as fish and chips, steak and kidney pie, shepherd’s pie, chicken and mushroom casserole, roast chicken, corn beef and cabbage and bangers and mash and baked potatoes, to name a few. An array of soups, salads and starters as well as some diverse mains and desserts are available, thereby catering to different palates. Try out the calamari, ham, Caesar, cranberry chicken, Greek, tossed green, potato skin with bacon, potato skins with mushrooms salads, the mixed seafood platter or mixed cheese toast platter or liver pate and toast, naming a few you can opt to start your meal with.
Main course favourites list out the BBQ spare ribs, beef bolognaise, salmon fish cakes, macaroni and cheese, chilli con carne, grilled pork chops, prawns and chips, chicken a la king, beef stroganoff, nachos, chicken tikka masala with rice and papadam and a variety of sandwiches including the steak, warm meatloaf and club sandwiches as well as the option to order your own filling of choice.
The pub is also famed for its burgers, known to serve the best of beef and chicken with a choice of extra toppings including fried eggs, chilli beef, cheese, bacon and mushrooms. The ‘great British butty’, which serves a warm buttered white bap and filled with bacon and egg, meatloaf and egg, bacon sausage or roast beef and served with chips, is an international favourite. Cheers is also home to one of Sri Lanka’s largest burgers, with the 32-ounce Big Ben Burger, offering a truly supersized indulgence. Packed to the brim with a meat patty, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, melted cheese, sautéed onions, gherkins and crunchy bacon topped off with an egg and served with a side of jumbo fries, it is possibly one of the biggest meals you are likely to consume.
Desserts such as homemade apple-pie, chocolate mousse, the arctic roll, sticky toffee pudding, bread and butter pudding, sherry trifle and bakewell tart, provide the perfect end to a typical pub meal.
The pub’s Sunday Carvery meanwhile slices out the finest of roast meats including chicken, beef, pork and lamb accompanied by a range of crunchy vegetables and gravy. On from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., there is quite possibly no better way for meat lovers to spend their Sunday afternoons than digging into some carnivore’s delights and a chilled pint.
In fact, pints are quite the common place at Cheers Pub which offers a range of brews on the menu, including the best of local and international brands. Patrons can select from twenty three local and imported drafts and seventy spirits, as well a choice of mocktails and juices, offering a drink to quench any genus of thirst. For 50% off on selected beverages, visit the pub during Happy Hour, on from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays.
And if you have kids, then the Cheers Kids Club, supervised by trained care- professionals, is tailored especially for our junior guests, so they can play video games, watch movies and chill at their own pace. The ‘kid’s zone’, open between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m., also has a kiddie’s restaurant with a special menu.
