It is not every day that a delivery lunch also looks like a work of art. Clique Cuisine’s modern twist to the fusion bento box which is creatively and tastefully done makes for the perfect upgrade to the usual lunchtime routine.
“Nearly everyone has fallen victim to the sad desk lunch — all of those tasteless salads, calorie-ridden frozen microwavable meals, dry rice, dripping gravies and soggy plates it really get old after a while,” said Rajiv Rajah, Head of Operations. “There’s a steady stream of people embracing the fusion bento box primarily due to its nutritious and stylish appeal. The bento box combines fashion, practicality and the freedom of eating what and where you want.”
Rajiv who pays academic attention to food and even more to detail believes that everyone deserves to have happier work lunch.

For those who rave about Clique Cuisine’s good food, fair prices and amazing service, the Bento Boxes, Rajiv says delivers all of that and more in a box. Clique Cuisine is a restaurant concept, built around steak and sushi, but the bento boxes take on a Sri Lankan twist.
“We basically bought the bento boxes and crafted our menu into it,” he says.
‘Bento’ is a Japanese term referring to a meal in a container eaten outside the home. The bento meal, often served in boxes with foods chosen for their colors and shapes, goes back to at least the 14th century.
For Rajiv, making and presenting food with care is an art, whether it means a judicious balance of food ingredients (for taste, color, texture), or making the contents looks appetizing and healthy.
Clique Cuisine offers three kinds of bento boxes; a vegetarian, seafood and chicken/beef option. All three of them include Jasmine rice. While the potion size looks minimal, Rajiv assures clients that they are indeed filling.
At an unbeatable price of Rs. 1,200 nett per box and available only on Fridays, the bento box is a must try.
