Youth in revolt worldwide

World over, the streets are in turmoil. There is a tsunami of protest storming through the world’s capital cities. Sri Lankans are familiar with the happenings in India, where public revulsion to unmitigated corruption by the political class, the bureaucracy and the higher echelons of the military has led to the youth, the middle class, the professionals, the business community, Bollywood and a cross section of Indian society throwing their weight behind Anna Hazare’s Jan Lokpal movement – an ombudsman to eradicate corruption.
