The scary monster again: A global food crisis in the offing

The index which the UN body, Food and Agricultural Organisation or FAO, prepares to track the month to month changes in the prices of five major categories of food items rose to 231 units, much higher than the previous record of 200 that in fact sent shock waves throughout the world in the midst of a catastrophic food crisis in 2008.
