‘Believe’ is a recently established charity in Sri Lanka, which is committed towards uplifting the standards of education and eradicating poverty. Once this charity was established, several projects were launched in line with achieving the foundation’s charitable objectives. Members of ‘Believe’ recently visited some villages in Hambantota which were severely affected by the drought in order to help the residents of those areas. The first chapter of the water donation campaign took place on 7 September in the villages of Thanamalvila, Tissamaharama, Kirinda and Yala. The foundation’s team distributed water bottles and dry rations to those affected. The second part of this massive water donation campaign took place on 14 September, where Believe, in collaboration with Mercury Institute of Management, distributed water bottles, water tanks and barrels to store the water, dry rations and most importantly, arranged for several water bowsers to the affected areas. In total, nearly 100,000 litres of water were distributed through bowsers and 5 litre water bottles. Believe extends its gratitude to all its members and everyone who helped in some way to make this water donation campaign a success. Believe aspires to do many such projects in the future as well.
