Methsiri Cooray won the air ticket to the Maldives at the raffle draw of the Sri Lanka Cancer Society. The tickets were sold at the recently held ‘Walk for Cancer’. In a generous gesture, Cooray donated his prize to the society in order to assist them in all the work carried out daily to create awareness and improve the quality of life of cancer patients.
All those who purchased a raffle ticket were also entitled to a CD with a recording of the official song for the walk ‘Paint a Rainbow,’ which saw a host of Sri Lanka’s best musicians coming together to record and produce a song of hope, support and love for all those who are fighting this disease daily. CDs of this special song, which continues to carry the message of hope that cancer can be overcome, are available at the Society. Here, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cancer Society Tony Anghie hands over the prize to Cooray while Asst. Secretary of the Sri Lanka Cancer Society Ramani Fernando looks on.
