Untitled-1In keeping with their commitment of creating a pathway to success and wellbeing for the children of Sri Lanka, Sampath Bank is setting up a free medical camp as the next phase of their activities scheduled to celebrate World Children’s Day. The medical camp will be set up at Matara Shariputhra Secondary School on 3 October from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be open to all Sampath Pubudu and Sapiri Children’s Savings Account holders.

With the support of a leading private hospital, this valuable medical camp will offer consultation booths led by experienced doctors who will conduct free health checkups for children and educate parents on how they can contribute to maintaining a healthy lifestyle for their children. In addition to the free consultation booths, the medical camp will also have a Dental and Eye Care Unit set up for free dental and eye check-ups for children.

Further adding to the free health screenings, Sampath Bank has organised a series of fun-filled activities with the availability of bouncers, face painting, magic shows, carnival games and much more at the site of the medical camp in order to make the experience of getting a medical check-up so much more fun.

Sampath Minor Savings Account holders can participate for this event along with their parents or a guardian who will have to provide either a Sampath Pubudu or Sapiri pass book at the venue in order to participate for the event. Those who are not Sampath Minor account holders are simply required to open a Sampath Pubudu or Sapiri Children’s Savings Account in order to part take in the event.

Remarking on this novel initiative, Sampath Bank Deputy General Manager – Marketing and Business Development Tharaka Ranwala said, “As a responsible corporate citizen, we at Sampath Bank strive to give back to the community in ways that go beyond banking products and services. We have always undertaken the responsibility to make sure that it is not just the economic needs of citizens that we commit to cater to, but also the health and welfare needs of the society. As such we are extremely delighted to conduct our first ever medical camp for children, as we believe that our growing children require regular health checkups in order to maintain good health and a happy mind for a prosperous future.

“This medical camp is also an opportunity to enlighten parents on the importance of regular health checkups for their children and educate them on the many ways they can keep their children fit and healthy.”

To further commemorate World Children’s Day 2015, Sampath Bank will be gifting 100 lucky babies born on 1 October with a gold pendant and a free Children’s Savings Account with a deposit of Rs. 500. In order to give your new born baby the chance of being one of the lucky 100 baby winners, the mother’s national identity card number along with her name must be sent via SMS to 8822 upon the birth of their new born baby on 1 October. While the first 100 SMS’s sent will be qualified to win, it is also required to submit a copy of the mother’s diagnosis card within seven days to Sampath Bank PLC, Marketing Department, No. 110, Sir James Pieris Mawatha, Colombo 02 in order to be eligible to receive these valuable gifts.

As Sampath Bank continues to maintain its position as a responsible corporate citizen, these initiatives are yet another depiction of the bank’s unwavering efforts in attuning its services towards not only the economic needs of the society, but also towards serving the community in ways beneficial to their health.
