People’s Bank Group holds pirith ceremony to commemorate President Rajapaksa’s anniversary

With the contribution of People’s Bank, People’s Leasing Company and People’s Merchant Finance Company, a pirith ceremony was held at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Anuradhapura in commemoration of President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s birthday and seventh anniversary of assuming duties in office, recently.

The final day of the ceremony was 18 November, graced by Buddhist rituals and alms giving for 100 Buddhist monks held the following day.

This noble venture was supported by the District Secretary’s Office, North Central Provincial Council, State and Private sector corporations.

The occasion was graced by North Central Province Governor Karunarathna Diulgane, Chief Minister S.M. Ranjith, Provincial Minister H.B. Semasinghe, Provincial Minister K.H. Nandasena and the Anuradhapura District Secretary Mahinda Senevirathne. People’s Bank Chairman W. Karunajeewa, Director Ajith Panditharathne, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/ General Manager N. Vasantha Kumar, People’s Leasing CEO/General Manager D.P. Kumarage and the executive management of Peoples Bank and over 500 employees of People’s Bank staff were present for the occasion.
