‘Munchee Samaga Gamata Sarana,’ the foremost CSR initiative of Munchee, provided three more projects for the benefit of people in Meegammana in Kandy, Kotahena and Giritale areas.
The CSR program for village rehabilitation and development was launched two years ago with the objective of generating in social incentives in needy rural communities. It has now flourished into a well-structured social value generation and community integration program.
Meegammana is a remote village situated in Kandy District. The villagers had to undergo numerous difficulties for years due to lack of a proper access to the village. The second community project donated during the past month was a computer lab at Agamathy Vidyalaya in Kotahena. Although this is a school in Colombo, it was in need of this facility for a long time to enhance computer education among the students.
In Giritale, Jayanthi Gurukula Vidyalaya received an E-Learning Centre, enabling children of the school to get the services of teachers in any part of the globe. The school will also share this technology-based facility with neighboring schools. The project has the potential to even extend its benefits to the community for them to consult a specialist doctors in the case of critical illnesses, said the school’s Principal Chaminda Perea.
