Mahapola Lotto supports education in Central Province

Continuing to contribute towards the cause of education of underprivileged youth in the island, Mahapola Lotto joined hands with ‘Esala Udanaya 2014’. The event was organised by the Central Province Chief Minister’s Graduate Foundation with the aim of uplifting the quality of education in rural quarters of the province. Coming in as the principal sponsor, Mahapola Lotto also donated 1,000 school bags to the foundation to be distributed amongst rural schools in the region.
“We are glad to work with Esala Udanaya 2014, an event that seeks to generate funds to uplift the quality of education in the region. Mahapola Lotto was setup with the singular aim of generating additional funding for higher education in the country. With this in mind, we actively look for opportunities to partner with like minded initiatives such as this around the island,” said Oceanic Games Corporate Communications Manager Harshini Sirinanda.
The 11 day carnival held at Gatmbe grounds in Kandy drew huge crowds from far and near. Celebrated artistes including Priya Sooriyasena, Senanayake Veraliyadda, Subani Harshini, Babe Shanika, Theekshana Anuradha kept the audiences charged up with their foot thumping numbers. The event also featured stellar performances by Flashback, Arrow Star, Allright, Oxygen and Seeduva Sarasi. Actively taking part in the daily grand raffle draws, members of the public took home some mega prizes.
