Lankem Paints Ltd., manufacturers and marketers of Robbialac Paints has, for the eighth consecutive year, undertaken the painting of the entire Dalada Maligawa complex in Kandy for forthcoming Esala Perehera. This annual ‘Varna Pooja’ is now a tradition and part of the many rituals associated with the Temple of the Tooth of the Dalada Maligawa before the annual Esala Perehera.
The world famous Kandy Esala Perehera begins with the Kumbal Perahera on 23 July and attracts thousands of devotees from all parts of Sri Lanka together with numerous foreign visitors from different parts of the globe. It ends with the spectacular Randoli Perahera on 1 August. This is followed by the Day Perahera on 2 August and then the traditional Water Cutting ceremony at Getambe.
Lankem Ceylon PLC Director Ruwan T. Weerasinghe said, “It is once again our great privilege to paint the Dalada Maligawa for the Kandy Eslaa Perahera. Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela thanked Lankem Paints for its continued support in painting the Dalada Maligawa for the eighth consecutive year, ahead of the Esala Perehera.
