Lankaputhra Development Bank supports renovation of Leprosy Hospital

Lankaputhra Development Bank recently undertook to renovate the Leprosy Hospital at Wattala and provided the necessary equipment and medicinal drug needed for the hospital and the patients under its CSR project.
Under the project, Lankaputhra Development Bank painted four wards, repaired the broken ceiling fans, purchased cupboards for patients and renovated the name board as well.
The Leprosy Hospital which is over 300 years was built during the Dutch period. After 1983 no new patients have been admitted to the hospital but there are 43 in-house patients and the project was initiated by the Lankaputhra Development Bank for their benefit.
The renovation work was completed recently and Lankaputhra Development Bank Chairman
H.S. Dharmasiri, General Manager/ CEO Lasantha Amarasekera and the Assistant General Manager Credit and Operation Ranjith Dissanayaka as well as the Doctor in charge of the Hospital Dr. Namal Gunasekera were present at this occasion.
Chairman of the Bank H.S. Dharmasiri said that the bank will always support such projects under the CSR program of the bank. “We at Lankaputhra Development Bank are of the view that we should support projects which are not supported by other institutions and the public. The bank was setup under the Mahinda Chinthana and its main objective is supporting the development activities of the country. In addition to supporting the entrepreneurs of the country with financial support the bank also offers the highest interest rates for it savings products,” Chairman Dharmasiri added.
