As Sri Lanka’s household favourite brand, Elephant House has always supported activities which strengthen national harmony and territorial integrity.
One such endeavour was when Elephant House sponsored the national cycle parade ‘Uthuren Dakunata’ organised by the Sri Lanka Boy Scouts Association.
The parade lasted an entire week, commencing from Point Pedro, Jaffna on 13 February to reach Colombo on 19 February. The scouts were warmly greeted by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa on their arrival in Colombo.
“The country needs future leaders to propel a robust economic growth. The Scout Movement is one such organisation which nurtures and grooms our young generation to take up leadership roles in tomorrow’s world. As a responsible corporate citizen we have identified the commercial sector role in supporting initiatives of this nature,” said Neil Samarasinghe – Head of Frozen Confectionery Elephant House.
