Seven branch offices belonging to the Southern Cluster of DFCC Bank and DFCC Vardhana Bank recently organised a corporate social responsibility project where staff members took timeout of their busy work schedule to volunteer their labour to carry out various tasks for the benefit of the general public.
The activity involved the cleaning up of seven hospital wards, located close to the branch in the region. The selected wards included those from the Embilipitiya Base Hospital, Kalawana Base Hospital, Balapitiya Base Hospital, Mahamodara Teaching Hospital, Galle, Matara General Hospital, Nagoda General Hospital and the Deniyaya Base Hospital. Staff from these seven branches painted the walls, roofs, beds and other furniture in the selected wards along with the staff of the respective hospitals.
This CSR project was coordinated by the Bank’s Regional Manager Chanaka Kariyawasam along with the contribution of the branch teams lead by their respective managers: Embilipitiya Branch Manager Rohan Samarasinghe, Kalawana Branch Manager Chandana Weeerawardana, Galle Branch Manager Pradeep De Alwis, Ambalangoda Branch Manager Dhananjaya Nandasiri, Matara Branch Manager Wajira Punchihewa, Kalutara Branch Manager Mangala Senrathna and Deniyaya Branch Manager Muditha Mahanama.
DFCC’s and DFCC Vardhana’s Southern regional cluster extended their appreciation towards Embilipitiya base hospital Director Dr. Anuja Rodrigo, Kalawana Base Hospital Director Dr. Premalal Abeysekara, Mahamodara Teaching Hospital Director Dr. Priyani Senadheera, Balapitiya Base Hospital Director Dr. H.A.C. Krishantha, Matara General Hospital Director Dr. Samindi Samarakoon, Nagoda General Hospital Director Dr. Upul Karunarathne and Deniyaya Base Hospital Director Dr. Premaratne Rankaduwa for their cooperation and valuable support extended towards the success of the activity.
