‘Munchee Samaga Gamata Sarana’, the community development initiative of Munchee, successfully concluded four new projects benefiting the students of Malapalla Vijayagosha Vidyalaya in the Sri Jayawardenapura education zone, Kegalle Junior school, Aleemchenai Muslim school Muttur and Kalutara Payagala Halkandawila Maha Vidyalaya. This village upliftment program has todate completed around 60 projects, benefiting millions of people islandwide.
The Munchee Samaga Gamata Sarana program gifted a school library each to the Malapalla Vijayagosha Vidyalaya and the Aleemchenai Muslim School Muttur. The Kegalle Junior School received a much needed class room under this program, while the Kalutara Payagala Halkandawila Maha Vidyalaya which faced many difficulties due to the lack of safe drinking water received a proper and safe drinking water system. These new projects will benefit over 1,000 students and teachers of the schools.
Munchee field sales teams identify and evaluate the relevant problems in each village in consultation with village leaders and send reports to the Munchee Head Office. On receiving consent from the management, the field sales teams commence the relevant programs and continue to coordinate each program until completion. The Munchee field sales teams also work side by side with the villagers to complete the projects and continue to look into additional requirements of the beneficiaries.
Commenting on this, Ceylon Biscuits Limited Sales and Marketing Group Director and Head Nandana Wickramage said: “Our aim is to touch the lives of many and make a difference. ‘Munchee Samaga Gamata Sarana’ is a community development service that fulfils the requirements of communities while uplifting them.
