To be in line with the corporate values of Cathay Pacific Airways for being portrayed as a ‘socially responsible corporate citizen’, the airline as part of its local CSR initiative visited Dr. B.S. Jayawardane Children’s Development Centre located at Weligampitiya, Ja-ela on 8 December. The centre provides refuge for 22 disadvantaged children of the ages 7-16. The staff of the airline spent the evening with the children and celebrated Christmas with them. The Christmas celebrations contained fun filled games for the kids and the singing of Christmas carols. The children were also treated with delectable snacks, sweets and gifts by Santa. Commenting on the initiative, Cathay Pacific Airways Sri Lanka and Maldives Country Manager Anna Choi states, “Cathay Pacific is always a part of the communities we serve. We therefore have a contribution to make as a responsible corporate citizen in contributing to the society by way of enriching the lives of our future generations. We are very delighted to share the Christmas joy and happiness with the children and thank you for the colleagues who spent their off days for the visit.”
