The Bank of Ceylon’s Buddhist Association organised a ‘Vesak Bakthi Gee’ performance by the staff of the bank at its head office on Wednesday, 18 May. The event was held under the patronage of the bank’s Chairman, President’s Counsel Ronald C. Perera and the General Manager D.M. Gunasekera. The bank’s Buddhist Association has organised this event for the 36th occasion with the participation of 50 choir members comprising of both existing and retired staff.
The choir sang many popular Buddhist devotional songs and some were composed by staff of the bank with religious fervour. The choir members were trained by Lakshman Wijesekera a veteran Sinhala artist in the country. The members of the bank’s corporate and executive management and staff members also participated at this event.
