Amãna Takaful PLC, the only fully-fledged Takaful operator in the country and the flag bearer of the Takaful way of insurance in Sri Lanka, recently held a draw for its ‘Adhyapana’ and ‘Edukate’ policy holders to celebrate World Children’s Day under the theme ‘Protect us with love’. The Chief Guest at the draw was Husni Hussain, Registrar of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) and Chairperson of Ilma International School. Also present on the occasion were Fazal Ghaffoor, CEO, Amãna Takaful PLC, Reyaz Jeffrey, GM/CEO Amãna Takaful Life, staff, customers and their children. A total of 800 lucky Adhyapana and Edukate policy holders were selected at the ‘Adhyapana Draw’. The winners will receive a cash grant of Rs. 2,500 each, which can be used to purchase a gift for the children or alternatively, deposited toward their premium for the Adhyapana policy, which will help grow their life fund. Commenting on the draw, Jeffrey stated, “Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. This year’s World Children’s Day theme emphasises on the responsibility as a parent to protect and safeguard the welfare of one’s child and taking necessary steps to secure their future. Amãna Takaful Adhyapana for children in particular, is a product we have customised and tailor made to address these very needs.” Amana Takaful’s Adhyapana, is a unique child education cover and saving plan. This cover endeavours to secure every parent’s wish, which is to give their children the best education and a stable future. The Adhyapana child education plan also offers a comprehensive life cover for the child and the parents. Additionally, the policy offers a scholarship program that rewards excellence at the grade 5 scholarship and Ordinary Level examinations. It also offers a laptop on entrance to state university as part of its benefits. Addressing the gathering on this occasion Hussain said, “As much as it is important for our children to have a good education, it is also vital that we provide them with an alternative supportive system where they could continue their higher education uninterrupted even in the absence of their parents. I truly believe child education insurance is closest we have for such an alternative. I’m particularly happy to be associated with this program where the theme is providing stability for a child’s higher education.” Amãna Takaful has been recognized for its innovation and quality of service for over 15 years. The company caters to a vast variety of customers from varying strata of society regardless of who they are. Recognised recently at the SLIBFI awards, the company received two gold awards for the ‘Best Islamic Finance Entity of the Year’ and for ‘Product of the Year’ which the company won for KruthaGuna, a hospitalisation insurance policy for senior citizens over 55 years of age.
