Global ‘Let’s Colour’ initiative channels
transformational power of colour in 100 local schools
AkzoNobel Paints, owners of brand Dulux and the paint industry’s most influential global company, is committed to improving lives through its worldwide ‘Let’s Colour’ project. Channelling the transformational power of colour, AkzoNobel Paints colours people’s lives using paint as a medium to brighten community spaces.
In its latest local project, Dulux is donating paints worth Rs. 20,000,000 to create a colourful environment island wide.
Dulux encourages students, teachers and principals of schools to write requesting that their school be selected for this project by simply explaining why their school deserves a makeover.
The company is calling for submission of entries from 5 February and 100 selected schools will be painted utilising interior and exterior paints depending on the individual school’s requirements.
Applications should consist of a letter mentioning the school’s paint requirement and the reason why this particular school should be selected. Entries are to be sent to PO Box 1450, Colombo before 25 February.
Dulux places focus on schools for this CSR initiative recognising that many schools have basic facilities but lack a positive ambience.
The company believes that to enhance education and create a conducive setting, the study and play environment has to be pleasant. It backs this belief with its commitment to make a change using colour.
Investing in education is one of the most crucial investments that can be made and Dulux’ latest initiative is based on the importance of improving education via uplifting the educational environment and boosting positivity among schoolchildren.
To date the ‘Let’s Colour’ project, has donated over 675,000 litres of paint and coloured thousands of lives.
Present in Sri Lanka AkzoNobel leads the way in the decorative paint industry, offering high quality products that comply with international standards.
