A Spanish taster for students at Cinnamon Lakeside

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo was honoured to welcome a group of young students from The British School in Colombo.

Studying Spanish as a part of their International Baccalaureate course a group of senior students visited the hotel accompanied by their teachers to gain an insight into the wonderful tastes of Spanish Cuisine. As part of their cultural exploration project, the students got an understanding of the variety of dishes within the Spanish cuisine.

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo’s expert Spanish Chef Juan Maria Marrero Ortega popularly known as Chef Chema introduced the students to a range of tapas and gave them a taste of the traditional Spanish dish Paella.

The group enjoyed their day out conversing in Spanish with Chef Chema of Spanish origin, who educated the students on the dishes and Spanish culture. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the sunny pool and the Beira Lake, Chef Chema successfully re-created the atmosphere felt while sitting by and enjoying a meal by the Barcelona port.
