Have fun choosing the gift most suited for each your loved ones, who will certainly value its contents.
Each gift box is specially curated by a creative team, and will be auctioned off on My Sunshine social media pages from tomorrow, 14 November. Be sure to leave a bid on the comment sections of each post. The bids are due to close within 72 hours after the post is put up, so make sure to save the date and grab these attractive offers before they’re gone! They are tagged as #giftsformysunshine.
In addition, to having the chance to gift one of these boxes to your loved ones, you can also serve a bigger purpose by supporting a community of local artisans. All proceeds from this auction will be used to fund the construction of a library at an orphanage in Wahakotte and for improving the literacy levels of impoverished children in our land through upgrading of libraries- a project close to the heart of My Sunshine.
My Sunshine charity was established in memory of Dinendri Siriwardena, an avid book lover, to provide safe spaces for underprivileged children to cultivate a love for reading, learning and illumination of the mind. Young Dinendri, which literary means ‘sunshine’ was an angel who shone brightly in whatever task she did. She dreamed of being a doctor and an artist. Even though her life was brief, she left a legacy of love, and her parents and loved ones wish to share her passion for books and wondrous imagination among little children.
In order to celebrate the exceptional and intelligent life she lived, My Sunshine envisions to create a haven for children in Sri Lanka who would benefit from an escape hatch; to broaden their horizons, spread their wings and take flight to the lands of their imagination or the science of the cosmos. These pockets of learning are aptly called My Sunshine Hatches. The first hatch was set up at Bosco Sevana, Uswetakeiyawa, Sri Lanka and others have followed in rapid succession. All are invited to join in illuminating the minds of young children. See https://www.mysunshinecharity.org for more details.
