The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Colombo, in collaboration with charity and welfare organisations in UAE, is implementing seasonal projects during the month of Ramadan to benefit the people of Sri Lanka.
Dry ration packs sponsored by the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation were distributed to more than 1,000 poor and deserving families in different parts of the island.
Festival clothing was also distributed to inmates of several children’s and elders’ homes.
The United Arab Emirates, through its UAE Aid program, has been continuously assisting Sri Lanka by providing emergency relief, and by implementing humanitarian and welfare projects that contribute to social empowerment and the alleviation of poverty.
