Achieving yet another milestone in caring for the wellbeing of the differently-abled, the Plastic and Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka (PRISL) donated over 70 lecture room chairs to the Sandagala Special School located at Kurunegala.
With over 160 students, the Sandagala Special School plays a tremendous role in crafting the future of the less fortunate children and youth in the region. This is achieved by giving them an opportunity to hone-in on their innate talents and develop specific skills that would be useful in establishing a professional path for them to base their futures as successful, independent citizens.
The project to construct a vocational training centre, for which the chairs were donated, was initiated by the Lions Club of District 306B under the leadership of the District Governor and immediate Past President of PRISL Indhra Kaushal Rajapakse.
The donation initiative was supported promptly and wholeheartedly by all Office Bearers of PRISL, under the guidance of Kalyana Dhirasekara, the current President of the PRISL.
The vocational centre was ceremonially declared open and handed over to the school’s custody on 9 March. Whilst being thankful to the incumbent Office Bearers and support staff, PRISL is looking forward to continuing the contribution towards the wellbeing of the deserving public with many timely future projects to come.
