Mobil Lubricants in collaboration with PickMe, the Sri Lankan-based taxi hailing app, launched a unique CSR initiative at the 139th Royal-Thomian cricket encounter.

The activation aims to raise awareness on responsibility and safety during the annual cricket encounter, allowing them to experience in the revelry of the event. Through this initiative Mobil Lubricants looks to ensure the safety of all those at the ‘Big Match’ by providing alternatives to go about when required.

McLarens Group Group Joint Managing Director Dinesh Jayawardana commented: “Our goal is to change the behaviours of individuals during the Big Match and promote responsible decision-making. We wanted to ensure everyone travels safely during or after the festivities by encouraging them to leave their vehicles behind and use the services that we are providing with PickMe. As a partner of the event it was an ideal opportunity and we felt it was our duty to partner everyone’s journey.”

Adding his thoughts about the CSR initiative, PickMe’s CEO and Founder Jiffry Zulfer said, “As a service provider with our interest lying in the enabling of hassle free commuting, our partnership with Mobil is one that shares a lot of common interests. This particular initiative is one such, where we’re thrilled to be in mutual partnership to promote responsible choices while not compromising on the fun.”

Throughout the duration of the Battle of the Blues, there will be 10 Mobil branded vehicles parked outside the SSC Grounds for anyone to use. All he or she would need to do is furnish their official Royal-Thomian Cricket Encounter ticket in order to avail the ride.
