Hayleys Consumer Products together with Procter & Gamble India have decided to donate 10,000 packets (each pack consists of four diapers) of Pampers, a world-renowned P&G brand of baby diapers, worth Rs. 2.4 million and 30,000 Gillette branded razors worth Rs. 2.4 million in support of the Government’s efforts to enhance health and safety in the battle against COVID-19.
The donation of pampers will ensure babies of Sri Lanka overcome the risk of skin rashes, infections, and many other poor health outcomes.
The donation was made to Ritsu Nacken at the UNFPA which will distribute the Pampers to hospitals around Sri Lanka, namely Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital, Castle Street Hospital for Women (Teaching), Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama and Teaching Hospital in Jaffna.
The Gillette razors were donated through Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s office, to be handed to dedicated tri forces and Police officers who have traded their freedom and safety for the good of the general public of our island through Defence Secretary Major General Kamal Gunaratne.
Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd. Managing Director Wasaba Jayasekara, Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd. Director Krishantha Halambarachchige, Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd. Manager Market Strategy and Planning Kasun Nanayakkara and Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd. Executive Market Strategy and Planning Maneesha Senevirathna were present at the occasion. Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd. said it was their due responsibility to step up at this time and donate towards the society in time of this crisis.
The company also said its employees moved with the situation, and gathered together with the Welfare Society, at this time of need, in contributing a tidy sum from their wages to the general public who are affected by COVID-19.
