Sri Lanka’s leading financial services provider, HNB Finance successfully concluded the fourth consecutive annual blood donation camp at the Serpentine Housing Scheme in Borella.
Hosted by the HNB Finance City Branch, the program is part of a larger scheme of social projects organized by the financial services provider across the island. A total of 120 individuals consisting of members of the public, residents and HNB Finance staff donated blood at the camp, fully supported and commended by the Blood Bank.
“The blood donation camp is one of the many social projects that are being organised by HNB Finance across its extensive branch network. We have always ensured that our projects are organised under the themes of social empowerment, social welfare, education and health. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making the fourth annual blood donation camp a success and wish them the strength and resilience to organize such wonderful events in the years to come,” HNB Finance Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Chaminda Prabhath said.
The program concluded with all those who donated blood partaking of a nutritious lunch offered by the HNB Finance. The financial services provider further committed to save and protect the environment through the distribution of useful plants amongst the participants.
The Lions Club of Borella participating the event, donated of a pair of crutches to a disabled person. The Club donated several wheelchairs at the blood donation camp organised the previous year.
The event concluded with the Chief Incumbent of Shantharamaya Temple, which has housed the Borella Service Centre for 16 long years, conducting a special religious ceremony to bless the participants.
