Continuing its drive towards social responsibility projects and solidifying its position as a pioneer in tyre industry, DSI Tyres recently donated Rs. 4.8 million worth of Philips multipara monitors to the Gampaha District General Hospital.

The donation was made on the initiative of DSI Samson Group Ltd. Managing Director Ranatunga Rajapakse. Coming at a time when the country is battling virulent strains of COVID 19 it was felt timely and relevant. The monitors were handed over through the intervention of Dr. Shiran Dias at a ceremony presided over by Samson Rubber Products General Manager of Human Resources M.H. Wasantha and Assistant General Manager of Human Resources Amitha Kumara Lokuwithanage as well as Dr. Saman Senanayake, Dr. Mahesh and Dr. Ileperuma. The multipara monitor indicates heart rate, central venous pressure, non-invasive blood pressure, ECG, oxygen saturation (SpO2) and partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2). These monitors are crucial to Intensive Care Unit and contribute much towards the national campaign against virulent diseases such as COVID-19. The donation was thus felt as a much-needed intervention by hospital officials.

“DSI Tyres commits itself to the cause of our society. At a turbulent time like this, when everyone is in the throes of a dangerous virus, we are ready to come forward and help everyone get through. Indeed, at DSI Tyres we have ensured the health and safety of our employees, along with their job security,” stated Rajapakse.
