The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has assisted a project to enhance welfare facilities provided inside the National Eye Hospital and has also installed an ATM at the premises for the convenience of patients and visitors.
Thousands of people visit the National Eye Hospital daily from all parts of the country and the majority of them are from distant areas. The new welfare project is to provide adequate facilities for these visitors including a cafeteria to purchase food and beverages conveniently. The CSR Trust of the bank has assisted welfare projects of the hospital in the past as well.
The ATM installed by the bank is its 759th ATM in Sri Lanka and will provide convenient access to cash for all visitors. Commercial Bank has established many ATMs outside its branch network, mainly in public places such as bus stands, railway stations, shopping complexes, hospitals and large factories to facilitate customers’ and non-customers’ access to their money.
Commercial Bank has also partnered with the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo (NHSL) which adjoins the Eye Hospital, for a gardening and landscaping project, to facilitate the mental wellbeing of patients and to create a conducive, healthy environment for them.
