Bitulink Emulsion Ltd., a leading manufacturer of bitumen and related products, donated a Rs. 1 million worth High Flow Humidifier to the Intensive Care Unit of the Dambadeniya Base Hospital recently, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project.
Participants at the donation ceremony were the District Health Director Pramitha Shantilatha, Medical Superintendent Dr. Aruna Wickrama and other officials from the Dambadeniya Base Hospital along with Bitulink Emulsion Ltd. Chairman/Managing Director Mahesh Wijeratne, Director Karunaratne Pinnawala, and other officials from the company’s management.
“This is a great relief to the ongoing battle against COVID-19 at Dambadeniya Base Hospital where things have been consistently at alarming levels due to the Delta variant virus,” said Dr. Pramitha Shanthilatha, thanking Mahesh Wijerathne for his generosity towards the hospital at this crucial juncture. Issuing a statement at the occasion, Wijerathna said, “We are pleased to support the equipment and supply needs of Dambadeniya Base Hospital in the frontline of managing the COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka at this critical time. We would also like to convey our sincere appreciation for the efforts of healthcare professionals and related personnel for their tireless contribution to combat and control COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.”
