The Staff Welfare Association of the BMICH Sri Lanka’s iconic landmark received an award with a Certificate of Appreciation from the National Blood Transfusion Service recently for taking the initiative of organising successful mobile blood donation campaigns. The award category was ‘Mobile Campaign Organiser’.

The mobile blood donation campaign was held in conjunction with the World Blood Donation Day on 14 June at the Main Conference and Concert Hall of the BMICH. The Guest of Honour at the ceremony was Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne.

“As a responsible corporate entity, we engage in many CSR activities and we encourage our staff to voluntarily participate in such initiatives to give back to society. Donating blood is a meritorious act, where each drop goes into saving a life,” said BMICH Chief Executive Sunil Dissanayake.

BMICH together with their staff regularly organise mobile blood donation campaigns to offer merit and to bring honour to their founders.
