Origin Tea CEO Christopher Seaton hands over the medicines to Lady Ridgeway Hospital Director Dr. G. Wijesuriya
An Australian tea company is encouraging Australians to help Sri Lanka get through its present economic crisis and help get money for Sri Lankans in need of basic necessities such as medicine and food.
Origin Tea in Sri Lanka donated some medicines worth AUD 3,000 to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, Borella, on Thursday 17 November under their CSR project #sipforSriLanka.
The majority of children who are brought for treatment are from low socio-economic background families.
Origin Tea Ltd. CEO Christopher Seaton handed over the medicines to Lady Ridgeway Hospital Director Dr. G. Wijesuriya at the hospital premises.
Origin Tea is run by two brothers, Christopher Seaton and Lawrence Seaton, in Australia.
Deputy Director of the hospital Dr. Santhusitha Senapathi, Planning Medical Officer Dr. Savithri Dharmarathna, Origin Tea Group Director Menaka Athukorala, Director Nishantha Rajapakse and staff were also present.
The LRH doctors appreciated the initiative taken by Origin Tea to help the hospital.
