With the intention of assisting Army families affected due to ongoing quarantine curfew restrictions, a project was launched by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) to distribute vegetable packets at subsidised prices on the guidelines given by Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
The project kicked off on 4 November under the leadership of Army Seva Vanitha Unit President Sujeewa Nelson, after visiting the Army Residential Quarters at Manning Town, Narahenpita.
Those vegetable packets consist of about five to seven varieties of vegetables.
Sujeewa Nelson together with several senior ASVU members, officers and other ranks joined the distribution program at Manning Town marking one more welfare project of the ASVU.
