Commercial Bank powers Banking and Finance session at CBF 2013

The Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) session on Banking and Finance, sponsored by the Commercial Bank of Ceylon, was a spectacular success with full attendance by Commonwealth delegates, regulators, bankers and business leaders, and a vibrant question and answer session.
The eminent panel for the session was chaired by Sir Thomas Harris, Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered, UK and also comprised of Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Dr. James Mawangi, Group Managing Director and CEO of Equity Bank Kenya and Sri Lanka’s Insurance Ombudsman Dr. Wickrema Weerasooria.
Under the theme of ‘Banking and Financial Services: Enhancing Access and Economic Resilience,’ many thought-provoking presentations were made on topics such as the future of banking in Commonwealth countries; policies governing banking in Sri Lanka; Sri Lankan banking strategies; future of banking in Sri Lanka; laws relating banking in Sri Lanka; mobile money in Kenya; the future of mobile money and the insurance industry of Sri Lanka.
As sponsor of the prestigious Commonwealth Business Forum, Commercial Bank also had a stall at this forum to provide information to investors, delegates and banking professionals from around the world on its activities and the role it plays in enhancing access and economic resilience through its support to business in Sri Lanka. A large and representative group of delegates visited the stall and interacted with officials of the bank.
