Basil’s Business Forum a success

The Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF 2013) held parallel to CHOGM successfully concluded under the patronage of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel on Thursday. The three-day event which began on 14 November under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa was attended by 1,454 participants representing 83 countries. A special feature was that participants included representatives from 29 countries which are not Commonwealth members. There were a total of 640 foreign delegates at this forum, the theme of which was ‘Partnering for Wealth Creation and Social Development; The Commonwealth, Indian Ocean and SAARC’. Among the speakers at the final session  were Senior Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Bank of Ceylon Chairman Attorney Razik Zarook, Tim Cobalt of UK, Lord Moreland and Commonwealth Business Council Chairman Mohan Kaul.
