Becomes first and only Sri Lankan digital agency to achieve accolade
zMessenger, the award-winning integrated mobile media company, made history once again, becoming the first and only Sri Lankan digital agency to receive the ISO 27001:2013 certification for information security from the Bureau Veritas Certification Holding SAS-UK branch.
Through this latest achievement, the company has continued its tradition of being at the forefront of mobile marketing and digital services in Sri Lanka.
Global organisations, especially banks and financial institutions, have strict guidelines on which local companies they can work with at the local level. As a result, some of them are not allowed to work with any digital agency, irrespective of the agency’s standing in the local market. This has limited these organisations’ options when it comes to marketing their products and services to local customers through digital media.
With the ISO certification, by tying up with zMessenger, international brands operating in Sri Lanka now have the opportunity to work with a digital agency that adheres to their high standards in terms of authority, recognition, guaranteed security and reliable service.
This allows these organisations to tap into zMessenger’s vast experience, gained over its 12 years of operations, which has made it Sri Lanka’s leader in mobile marketing and digital services.
Expressing her views on this achievement, zMessenger Co-Founder/CEO Jayomi Lokuliyana stated: “This is a historic day for zMessenger as we have become the first and only digital agency in Sri Lanka to achieve ISO certification for information security. This ISO certification highlights the fact we are a company that adheres to international standards and is a confirmation that we are able to provide world-class services backed by a recognised international body.”
She added that both international and local brands were insistent on standards and structures when working with digital agencies.
“We are proud to be able to meet these stringent standards of our clients for the past 12 years. With information security being such a crucial aspect of businesses these days, it is important that zMessenger was able to adapt to meet this demand. We are confident that this certification will pave the way for zMessenger to acquire new clients, especially reputed international brands that operate locally,” she added.
zMessenger, the first organisation to introduce an SMS service to media stations in Sri Lanka, is an award-winning integrated mobile media company that leads the way in the planning, creation and execution of effective mobile marketing campaigns, branded community applications and content distribution strategies.
The company works with a range of international firms, including those in the media, consumer products, music, sports, gaming and ad agency areas. zMessenger was selected as the winner in the ‘e-Learning and Education’ category at e-Swabhimani 2012, an initiative of the Information Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) aimed at recognising excellence in digital content creation.
E-Swabhimani 2012 received 220 nominations from 16 districts across nine categories with 21 winners in total.
In 2013, the company gained international recognition as their mobile interactive learning tool ‘Learn English with the British Council’ was selected as a finalist at the prestigious ‘mBillionth Awards South Asia’.
Out of 209 applicants from the region, zMessenger is the only Sri Lankan company to be selected in the finalist category of this year’s mBillionth Awards.
