The growing local online community and the huge influx of tourists to Sri Lanka, which inspired Colombo Top 500 to launch its revolutionary platform, has taken off well, the company stated this week.
Dialog, Odel, Keells, Laugfs and Casa Colombo are among the over 25 leading brands, which have registered with the CT500 online model that functions as a referral site for any consumer.
The platform features only recognised brands and provides user-friendly access to information, based on individual preferences via a filtering system – the entire marketplace refined to the leading brands, at your fingertips.
A mobile version of this platform, m.colombotop500.com, was launched on 19 December, along with a mobile-application, compatible with the iPhone, Blackberry and Android, mainly to cater to the increasing number of mobile-internet users.
Particular brands within the Food and Beverage/Travel and Leisure industries have registered for 12 months, which allow the brands to constantly update and maintain their online-portal.
With approximately two million local internet users and 800,000 tourists visiting Sri Lanka this year, the company believes the potential for this online model is immense.
