Weigh LPG cylinders urges CAA

Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) Chairman RumyMarzookyesterday ordered CAA inspection officers to take legal action against vendors who break the law by not using scales to measure the weight of gas cylinders.

According to the gazette issued on 25 November 2008, scales should be provided to consumers inside boutiquesand groceries to measure the actual weight of the gas cylinder. CAA has taken this decision due to various complaints received by consumers.

In a press release issued yesterday, the CAA informed the public thatconsumers could lodge complains in this regard via hotline 1977.
