With the finale set for 20 June, the top nine businesses will go into a final round of mentoring this Friday as they prepare their final pitch. The final pitch will be made to a distinguished judging panel of investors from the Lankan Angel Network and the Indian Angel Network, who will be flying down for the event.
In addition to preparing their pitches, the teams will also have an opportunity to gain insight into the legal aspects of starting and running their businesses with a special mentoring session on Corporate Law by Arittha R. Wikramanayake, Senior Partner of Nithya Partners, Attorneys at Law. This session was organised in recognition of the importance of sound legal advice for any entrepreneur as they navigate the corporate world.
Created by Blue Ocean Ventures in partnership with the Indian Angel Network, and sponsored by Expolanka and Dialog Axiata, Venture Engine, aims to enable and empower the vast entrepreneurial potential in Sri Lanka by creating a real opportunity for businesses to gain access to funding.
While the top three business plans will be selected following the final pitch, the real success of the event lies in the numerous businesses that are on their way to being funded due to the doors opened via this platform.
