Uva Province Chief Minister Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, together with the Ministries of Finance and Planning, Law and Order, Education, Local Government, Power and Energy, Construction and Rural Infrastructure Development, officially launched Uva Expo 2016 ‘Endless Inspiration’– Trade Exhibition and Carnival on 19 September at the Simon Peiris Memorial Hall in Badulla.
This five-day-long trade exhibition and carnival will be held from 28 December 2016 to 1 January 2017 at the Uva Provincial Council library complex and football grounds in Badulla. The event seeks to attract many local and foreign trade partners with the turnout expected to average anywhere between 25,000-50,000 people daily.
Chief Minister Dasanayake wants to give the Uva Province a very novel educational and entertainment experience through Uva Expo 2016 by promoting trade and tourism opportunities and the development of the rural economy in the province. This event is solely managed by West Ventures Lanka Ltd. and supported by the Assistant High Commission of India in Kandy and the Uva Province Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
